The Product Math Word

Multiplication (symbol "×") is the mathematical operation of scaling one number by another. It is one of the four basic operations in elementary arithmetic (the others being addition, subtraction and division).

1. There are 15 students in a class. Each student have three books. Find the total number of books in the class.

Solution:
For math word, if the given problem is 15 * 3
Step 1:
First multiply 5 by 3 the answer is 15 then take the right hand side value 5 and the remainder 1 is added to the next term.
Step 2:
Multiply 1 x 3 = 3, then add the remainder 1, that means 3 + 1 = 4.
First we are multiplying the given terms.

Solution:
There are thirty five houses in a colony. In each house there are five people living in it. Find total or product number of peoples in the colony.
