How to Make Right Circular Cone

A right circular cone should be a three-dimensional shape. It could be make by the rotation of a right triangle about any of its legs. To make this, the base of right circular cone should be a circle. The slant height should be the hypotenuse of the triangle. The height should one leg of triangle as well as radius should be another leg.

Overview of Right circular cone:

       A right circular cone should be a cone. Their axis can be a line segment which connecting the vertex with the center point of circular base.
Diagrammatic representation:
This is a right circular cone with radius(r), height(h) and slant height(l).
       To make right circular cone we need r, h and l. Here, r represents its radius, h represents its radius and l represents its slant height.
Volume of Right circular cone:
The formula for calculating volume(V) of right circular cone is,
                  V = `(1)/(3)` `pi` r2h
Here, r and h are radius and height of the right circular cone.
Surface area of Right circular cone:
The surface area(SA) of right circular cone should be calculated as,
                  SA = `pi` r2 + `pi` r l

Example problems:

Example 1:
Find the volume of right circular cone that having radius as 8 inches and height as 23 inches.
Solution:
Given,
    Radius of right circular cone (r) = 8 inches
    Height of right circular cone (h) = 23 inches

Formula for computing volume of right circular cone is,
           V = `(1)/(3)` `pi` r2h
Substituting the values r = 8 inches and h = 23 inches in formula, we get,
           V = `(1)/(3)` (3.14) (8)2(23)
              = `(1)/(3)` (3.14) (64) (23)
              = `(1)/(3)` (4622.08)
              = 1540.69 inches3
Answer: 1540.69 inches3

Algebra is widely used in day to day activities watch out for my forthcoming posts on math 5th grade word problems and aptitude syllabus for gate 2013. I am sure they will be helpful.

Example 2:
What is the surface area of right circular cone with radius = 3cm and slant height = 7cm.
Solution:
Given,
      Radius (r) = 3cm
      Slant height (l) = 7cm
The formula for finding the surface area of right circular cone should be,
              SA = `pi` r2 + `pi` r l
Substituting the values r and l in the formula, we get,
             SA = `pi` (3)2 + `pi` (3) (7)
                   = (3.14) (9) + (3.14) (3) (7)
                   = 28.26 + 65.94
                   = 94.2 cm2
Answer: Surface area = 94.2 cm2
That's all about how to make the right circular cone.
