The word 'Arithmetic' means a type of operations done with only on numerical numbers.Arithmetic operations are addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Let we discuss about the arithmetic assessment. Addition is used to find the total of the two or more numbers. Subtraction is the inverse of the addition.Multiplication is nothing but repeated addition.Division is the inverse operation of multiplication.

Operations in Arithmetic assessment:
Addition:
Addition is used finding the two or more numbers total. The term addition is denoted by the symbol plus (+).
Example 1:
Add the given two values 28 and 42.
Step:
First write the numbers in vertical form.
Solution:
28 42 (+) ________ 70 ________
Example 2:
Add the given decimal numbers 22.42 and 14.13.
Step:
In the same way write the given numbers in vertical form
Solution:
2 2 . 4 2 1 4 . 1 3 (+) __________ 3 6 . 5 5 __________
Subtraction:
It is one of the processes of arithmetic operation; it is the inverse form of addition. The symbol of subtraction is minus (-)
Example 1:
Subtract the given two values 59 and 43.
Step:
First write the numbers in vertical form.
Solution:
5 9 4 3 (-) ______ 1 6 ______
Example 2:
subtract the following decimal values
139.12 and 112.6
step:
write the values in vertical form
Solution:
1 3 9 . 1 2 1 1 2 . 6 (-) ___________ 2 6 . 5 2 ____________
Multiplication:
This is one of the major process in arithmetic
Example 1:
multiply the following value.
Multiply 34 by 3.
Solution:
34 `xx` 3 = 102.
Division:
Example 1:
Divide 32 by 2.
32 `-:` 2 = 16
Example 2:
Divide the following numbers
Divide 364 by 4
364 `-:` 4 = 91
